AFRITAG RFID conference November 2006

Chris Turner chaired and Ian Pattison spoke at AFRITAG’s RFID conference in Johannesburg in November 2006. Chris was quoted as urging South African organisations to join EPCglobal to keep abreast of latest developments in RFID technology, particularly with regard to item-level tagging. DTI Global Watch Mission to the USA

RFIP took part in a 2 week visit in May 2006 to RFID vendors and experts organised by the DTI. David Armstrong contributed to the final report. Click here for the seminar at the National RFID Centre in September 2006 which reported findings from the mission.

RFID Online Summit September 2006

Paul Chartier is quoted on vulnerability of RFID chips to hacking and on the work being undertaken by ISO in RFID. Chris Turner is quoted on differences between US and European regulatory regimes, specifically on the Listen Before Talk protocol which can limit true event-driven RFID. KOEB (Korea e-Business Association) conference June 2006

Ian Pattison spoke at the KOEB conference on ubiquitous services and RFID in Seoul in June 2006. His two presentations covered developments in tag and reader technology, and how to involve people – consumers, customers, employees and suppliers – in successful RFID implementations.
